Blogger's Quilt Festival: Small Quilt
Howdy y'all! Here's my second entry for the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by Amy's Creative Side! You can see my first entry here! I debated for a while about what my second entry would be before picking Peels of Patience. This quilt is so me: low volume, bold colors, and you know I love me some orange peels! :) I still miss having these orange peels to sew on while waiting at doctor's offices and what not. I may have to start another one soon... You can read more about this quilt here!

I love the bright colors with the low volume background. It turned out beautiful. The quilting looks great, expecially on the back.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jan! Those bright and bold colors picked themselves out when I started this quilt. I had never considered this color palette before, but it just sort of happened. :) I'm so happy with how this one turned out, especially the quilting! It took forever, but I'm so very happy with the results!
DeleteThis is SO beautiful! I love all of the different fabrics that you used.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alison! This quilt became so much more than I dreamed it would when I started. This color palette just sort of happened as I pulled fabrics from my shelf! Besides restocking my low volumes, I think all the orange peels were from my small stash - it was fate, I say! :)
DeleteHi! What a beautiful quilt! I love the colours you have used and the orange peel pattern is wonderful! x Teje
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teje! Though unexpected, I absolutely love this color scheme! It's one of my favorites since making this quilt. :) And orange peels are absolutely wonderful! Easily my favorite 'traditional' block. :)
DeleteI love orange and blue together. An orange peel quilt is definitely on my quilty bucket list
ReplyDeleteI had never given orange and blue much thought until I did this quilt, and now I'm sold on this color scheme! Orange peels are the bomb, I absolutely love them! :)
DeleteBeautiful color choices and your low-volume background fabrics really make the colors shine!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lena! Amanda Jean over at Crazy Mom Quilts inspired this entire quilt, but especially the low volume scrappy background. Like you said, it really lets those bold colors shine! :)
DeleteGood luck. I love this quilt. Glad to see you entered.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anja! This is still one of my favorites. Everything about it makes me happy! :) It was nervewracking at first, but I'm so glad I shared my quilts in the Festival!
DeleteThis has got to be a winner for sure. The quilting is perfect for the quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer! It's a winner in my book, that's for sure! :) I remember wanting to pull my hair out as I quilted this, but it was so worth it. It defines those orange peels so well, I love it!
DeleteGreat color choices!!! Love this quilt. Job well-done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tu-Na Quilts!! This quilt was such a journey and I loved every bit of it. I hope to revisit this color palette some day, it has become one of my favorites! :)
